Political Consultations between Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Italy held

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS:

Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Italy were held June 3 in Rome, Italy. During the consultations RA Foreign Deputy Minister Arman Kirakosyan discussed with his Italian counterpart Alfredo Mantica a variety of issues on the Armenian-Italian relations and the regional cooperation.

An official from the press, information and PR department of the RA Foreign Ministry told Armenpress that during the meeting Arman Kirakosyan emphasized the importance of high-level mutual visits, the necessity of establishing an inter-governmental committee and making the trade-economic cooperation more active. He also detailed on the unique exhibition to be organized under the auspices of the presidents of Armenia and Italy December in 3 central museums of Venice on the 500th anniversary of the Armenia book-publishing.

Alfredo Mantica expressed Italy's readiness to deepen the relations with Armenia in all the spheres and organize corresponding mutual visits, as well as Italian Foreign Ministry's support to establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with the region of Veneto in the spheres of jewelry, wine-making and tourism.

Within the framework of the visit Arman Kirakosyan delivered a lecture on the South Caucasus security issues at NATO Defense College (NDC) in Rome. Before the lecture NDC Commandant Lieutenant General Wolf-Dieter Loeser received Arman Kirakosyan. Wolf-Dieter Loeser said the level of the cooperation with the Armenian party is high and emphasized the fact that it is the first time a high-official from the Foreign Ministry of Armenia has delivered a lecture at the NATO Defense College.
