James Appathurai says Georgia’s joining NATO not to be discussed in NATO Summit

YEREVAN, MAY 25, ARMENPRESS. NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai says NATO enlargement is not a threat against Russia or any other country, reports “Armenpress”.

“NATO enlargement does not threaten Russia or any other country. We are confident that this process contributes to the European stability”, Appathurai said this in Tbilisi where he came to participate in the 10th Georgia Defense and Security international conference.

He stated that NATO Warsaw Summit will not discuss the issue of Georgia’s joining the NATO. “However, progress and new cooperation ways in the relations between Georgia and the NATO will be discussed during the Summit”, ha stated, “Interfax” reported.
