During his visit to Armenia, Pope Francis received the world’s smallest portrait depicting himself as a gift, the author of which is Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan junior, the grandson of the microsculpture founder Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan. He was present when Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II gave the gift to Pope Francis.

Karekin II introduced me and the art of microsculpture to Pope Francis. Seeing his own portrait under the microscope, Pope Francis whole-heartedly laughed and expressed gratitude.
