Issues will not be solved through weapons, violence, hostages and terrorism –ARF Supreme
Council

YEREVAN, JULY 22, ARMENPRESS. The ARF Armenia Supreme Council issued a statement over the armed assault on the Police station in Yerevan on July 17.

The statement says a group of people demand political changes through the use of force who do not accept the methods and ways of the political struggle. They said everyone has to show clear stance over this issue. Few hours later after the incident, the ARF expressed its stance that there is a need of qualified changes, but the extremist thinking is an obstacle for those changes. “Issues will not be solved through weapons, violence, taking hostages and terrorism. The goal doesn’t justify the means. Those who think or support them, they simply rule out the prospect of having a strong, organized, and a free state”, the statement says.

The statement says the ARF seeks the peaceful solution of the situation, it considers unacceptable a new bloodshed, it requires the law enforcement agencies professionalism, to respect the law abiding citizens’ rights and dignity, it strictly condemns non-political methods of fighting and the extremist thinking.

“We can and we will have a strong, free, prosperous Armenia. On that path we are obliged to form a new quality leadership. We will pass this way with these values and with the wide circles of the consciousness-driven society”, the statement reads.
