“Attempts to solve issues by force are dividing our people” – Parliament of Nagorno Karabakh

“Attempts to solve issues by force are dividing our people” – Parliament of Nagorno Karabakh

YEREVAN, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS. The political forces of Nagorno Karabakh’s Parliament have adopted a statement regarding the situation in Yerevan, the NKR Parliament told ARMENPRESS.

ARMENPRESS present the statement:

“For already many days we are following with great concern in Nagorno Karabakh the unfolding events in Yerevan city. The recent developments are deeply disturbing for us, which endanger internal stability and civil solidarity.

The political forces of the NKR Parliament unconditionally condemn any manifestation of violence undermining the foundations of statehood and urge to display restraint and refrain from such extreme steps, which harm the country’s defense capability and security. At this critical stage for all Armenians, we don’t have the right to create hotbeds for internal tensions.

Attempts of solving current issues by force are dividing our people, deviate our collective vigilance in times of serious external challenges by weakening it with internal challenges of instability, and this cannot not have negative impact on the moods of our people’s children who are bravely monitoring the Motherland’s borders. We are sure that bloodshed will be able to be prevented by negotiations.

We urge the gunmen to lay down their weapons and shift the resolution to the circles of legislations and Constitution. We address and rely on our people’s reason and high sense of self-preservation to prevent further escalation of the developments, the results of which can be a heavy price for the current and future generations.
