GYUMRI, AUGUST 20, ARMENPRESS. The Brazilian evening with Brazilian dance and music, as well as cocktails and food was celebrated in Gyumri on August 19, reports “Armenpress”.

Belin Art Hotel has been properly prepared for this event with a confidence that getting acquainted with the cultures of different people is a great opportunity to reveal something new and spend a great day.

During the event all the guests were offered Brazilian drinks, dishes and desserts, and in the end games and dances were organized accompanied by country-specific entertainments. As a precondition, the guests were dressed with Brazilian colors yellow and green. Brazilian-Armenian volunteer Natalia Hazaryan supported the preparation works of the ceremony. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Armenia Edson Marinho Duarte Monteiro also attended the event.

To the question are there any cultural similarities between these two states, the Ambassador said music and dance. “The dances are different, but the spirit is the same, the Brazilian people cannot live without dancing, Armenian people’s ceremonies are being held with dances. You Armenians have very good musical compositions”, the Ambassador said.

Referring to the Olympic Games, in particular Armenian wrestler Artur Aleksanyan’s victory, the Ambassador said: “I am very happy not only that your wrestler won gold in the Olympic Games, but also that now I am in the city of that wrestler. It was a very exciting moment when the Armenian flag was raised and the Armenian anthem was sounded. I am happy for that victory and for Armenians”, the Brazilian Ambassador said.

“Today the most important thing is the Brazilian warmth and the good faith of the Brazilian soil which has been proved by the victory of our athletes. Gyumri and Brazilian Osasco are sister-cities. We hope the friendly relations will develop and boost especially after the Olympic victories”, Berlin Art Hotel’s Director Aleksan Ter-Minasyan told “Armenpress”.
