YEREVAN, AUGUST 25, ARMENPRESS. Manvel Mamoyan attempted to set a new Guinness World Record in Freedom Square.

Already one-time Guinness World Record holder Mamoyan dedicated his performance to the memories of fallen heroes of the 4 day war in Nagorno Karabakh.

Mamoyan attempted to beat the results of Canadian Roy Berger, who holds the record for 84 knuckle pushups in one minute.

During his first attempt, Mamoyan did 83 pushups and failed. However according to the Guinness rules, the athlete has right to three attempts.

Mamoyan set the record during his 2nd attempt, by doing 86 pushups.

The Armenian athlete’s results will be registered in the Guinness World Record book after the committee’s final approval. This process might last around four months, however the fact is Mamoyan has achieved the result.
