Unique pieces of Armenian art presented in exhibition dedicated to 25th anniversary of Armenia’s 
Independence

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. Within the framework of the European Heritage Days “Episodes of the Armenian Art Heritage” exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence was opened in the Museum of Russian Art, reports “Armenpress”.

For the first time the works of the 20th century’s Armenian art’s prominent masters were presented to the public. The works of masters such as Martiros Saryan, Yeghishe Tadevosyan, Hakob Gyurjyan, Gevorg Bashinjaghyan, Sedrak Arakelyan, Mikayel Avetov, Minas Avetisyan, Rudolf Khachatryan, Dmitry Nalbandyan, Vahagn Terzibashyan were included in the exhibition. In total, 14 exhibits were presented.

The exhibits are from Professor Aram Abrahamyan’s collection.

Exhibition curator, senior researcher of the Museum of Russian Art Lilit Sargsyan said the Armenian collection of the Russian Art Museum has not been presented in complete so far.

“The exhibition mainly aims to show the universal value of the Armenian art. During the Soviet times it was closed, and now in the context of independence we need to revalue our independent identity through the art”, she said.

The exhibition will last two months.
