YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. In the first half of this year 501 118 tourists visited Armenia.

In addition, 26.3% of them arrived from the CIS states, 23.4% from the EU states and 50.3% from other countries, the National Statistical Service of Armenia informed “Armenpress”.

In January-June 22.3% of tourists arrived from Russia, 17.8% from Iran, and 10.1% from the US. Compared to January-June 2015 the number of tourists visited Armenia has been increased by 2.4%.

31.6% of the visitors arrived in Armenia on a working purpose, 47% for vacation and entertainment, 0.4% for treatment, and 20.9% arrived for other purposes.

In January-June 2016 470 693 people departed from Armenia on a vacation purpose, and the number compared to the same period of 2015 has increased by 1.2%. According to the presented data, in January-June 2016 466 444 people left Armenia independently and only 4 249 people through tourism agencies: the last figure has been grown by 83.9% compared to the same period of 2015.

6.7% left Armenia for working purposes, 86.6% for vacation and entertainment, and 6.7% for other purposes.
