YEREVAN, OCTOBER 27, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan attended the opening of the “JUNWEX Yerevan show 2016” international jewelry expo in the “Meridian” expo center on October 27.

The exhibition center is located in the free economic jewelry zone, where businessmen are granted tax and customs privileges.

The President toured the exhibition, which is organized by the Armenian Jewelers Association (AJA), where famous jewelry companies from around the world are taking part, including individual jewelers and experts.

President Sargsyan got acquainted with jewelry products of Armenian and foreign production, jewelry equipment, and was briefed on the activities and upcoming programs.

The President also visited the opening of “Yerevan” trade center. The establishment of the center was initiated by “SIL Group”.

Representatives of the SIL company briefed the President on the works, investments, created vacancies, and further plans for development.

250 employees were permanently involved in the construction of the center during January-October of 2016, their average salary was 200.000 AMD.

550 jobs will be created with the opening of the first part of the center.

Investments at this stage amounted to 2 billion 500 million AMD.

With the second stage of the construction, a 43.000 sq.m. trade center will be opened in Yerevan, with 850 retail points and 1000 jobs.
