No meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents scheduled for the coming weeks

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 27, ARMENPRESS. No meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents is scheduled for the coming weeks, Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia, RPA spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov told the reporters after the Executive Body meeting of the Republican Party of Armenia. “Whether it is possible in the future or no, we will see later. We have our firm opinion that does not change. The Vienna and St. Petersburg agreements must be brought into life”, “Armenpress” reports Sharmazanov saying.

He added that Azerbaijan, unfortunately, ignores those agreements instead of implementing. “Azerbaijan made an attempt of subversive act. Yesterday we suffered a human loss on the border. I believe the international community and the Co-chairs must give addressed assessments and force Azerbaijan to implement the commitments it has assumed”, the National Assembly Vice President stated.

He once again presented the position of the Armenian side over Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. The people of Nagorno Karabakh must themselves decide their fate. Nagorno Karabakh is an independent state and cannot be inside Azerbaijan under any status. “We will not deviate from our positions during the talks. Our opinion is the following: It is not possible to step back. We must go forward and achieve the international recognition of Nagorno Karabakh”, Sharmazanov said.
