“Golden Globe Awards” tells about Sarik Andreasyan’s “Earthquake” movie

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. The official website of “Golden Globe Awards” has made a reference to the “Earthquake” movie by Sarik Andreasyan, reports “Armenpress”.

The website says the movie is based on a real story telling about the disastrous earthquake that hit Armenia in 1988, claiming over 25.000 lives.

“For director Sarik Andreasyan it was a very special project, in which he wanted, after almost 30 years, to tell the story not only of death and destruction but also to show the hope and community spirit in the face of the nightmare”, the website writes.

The movie is about the 1988 December 7 devastating earthquake in Armenia. The story is built around a Russian family living in the Armenian city of Leninankan. Anna Berezhnaya (Maria Mironova) with her son Vanya (Daniil Izotov) and daughter Katya (Anastasia Savkina) awaits the return from prison of her husband (Konstantin Lavronenko) who eight years prior was sentenced to prison for the death of two people in a car accident. Robert, who was in the car, survived and was given a shelter by his relatives.
