UNIFIL bestows medals to Armenian peacekeepers in Lebanon
15:22, 1 December 2016YEREVAN, DECEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. The shift ceremony of the Armenian contingent of UNIFIL peacekeeping forces in Lebanon took place. The official ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Armenia to Lebanon H.E. Samvel Mkrtchyan, embassy staff and military officials. Commander of the 4th Armenian contingent Tigran Sahakyan ceremonially handed over the leadership to Karen Atoyan, commander of the 5th contingent who arrived in Lebanon.
ARMENPRESS correspondent reports from Beirut the discipline of the Armenian contingent was highly praised by Colonel General Ugo Cillo, UNIFIL sector west commander.
Opening remarks were delivered by Ambassador Mkrtchyan, Karen Atoyan, Tigran Sahakyan and others.
Ambassador Mkrtchyan and Colonel-General Ugo Cillo bestowed medals provided by the UN to members of the Armenian contingent who completed their mission.
