YEREVAN, MARCH 20, ARMENPRESS. The special investigation service (SIS) launched a probe based on the report of the CEO of GeoProMining Gold LLC, regarding an attempted robbery of gold from the Sotk gold mine.

The CEO reported that on February 22, at around 03:50 security personnel of the company discovered 145.5 kg gold in the vehicle of police officers who were hired on contractual basis for patrolling the premises of the mine, the SIS told ARMENPRESS.

A criminal case has been launched on attempted robbery.

Investigation is underway.
