YEREVAN, MARCH 22, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on March 22 had a meeting with Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister, Defense Minister, Emir of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Abu Dhabi, press service of the President’s Office told “Armenpress”.

President Sargsyan thanked for the warm reception and stated that not so much time passed since his last meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He warmly remembered his recent official visit in the UAE and stated with satisfaction that it raised the bilateral inter-state relations to a new qualitative level.

The Armenian President said Armenia attaches great importance to the high-level political dialogue, as well as mutual partnership development with the UAE.

He expressed confidence that the results of today’s Investment Forum and the agreements which will be reached within the frames of it will have a full bilateral support and their significant contribution to the further development of the Armenia-UAE trade-economic ties.

Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude for inviting Armenia to take part in “Dubai Expo-2020”. He emphasized that the development of relations with the Arab world is among Armenia’s foreign policy priorities.

The sides agreed that the presence of diplomatic representations in both capitals contributes to the development of bilateral ties. Serzh Sargsyan expressed confidence that the establishment of Armenia’s Consulate General in Dubai will give new impetus to the development of economic ties between the two countries.

During the meeting the sides also discussed the implementation process of agreements reached by the results of Serzh Sargsyan’s recent official visit to the UAE. In this context, they talked about the Armenian Government’s decision on issuing visa-free regime for the UAE citizens which is already being applied. President Sargsyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum considered this as an important step for further strengthening and development of bilateral ties.
