Armenia, WB sign agricultural grant agreement

YEREVAN, MARCH 23, ARMENPRESS. Finance Minister of Armenia Vardan Aramyan met with the representatives off the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development on March 23 at the Ministry of Finance. As “Armenpress” was informed from the pres service of the Ministry, a grant agreement worth 1.8 million USD was signed between the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) and the Republic of Armenia in the sidelines of the “Agriculture Policy Monitoring and Evaluation Capacity Building Project”. The agreement was signed by Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan and Laura E. Bailey, World Bank's Country Manager for Armenia.

Minister Aramyan expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the World Bank's Armenia Office.

“We signed an agreement with the World Bank – a 1.8 million USD grant to be provided by the World Bank. The grant will mainly target agricultural development and above all, capacity building of the Ministry of Agriculture”, Vardan Aramyan said.

Laura Bailey expressed conviction that the grant will greatly contribute to overcoming problems in agricultural sphere.
