‘The Promise’ Armenian Genocide movie screened at opening of Sonoma Int’l Film Festival

YEREVAN, MARCH 30, ARMENPRESS. The American Sonoma International Film Festival was opened with the screening of The Promise – a film about the Armenian Genocide, the Festival said on Facebook.

Hollywood actress Angela Sarafyan, who plays the role of Maral in the movie, was present at the screening.

The film will be available in Armenia’s cinemas from April 27.

The Sonoma International Film Festival (SIFF) is an American film festival that began in 1997. It takes place each April in the Sonoma Valley of California and is hosted by the Sonoma International Film Society. Film categories include world cinema, feature-length narratives, documentaries, shorts and a student film program.

The Promise, staring Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac, tells the story of the Armenian Genocide at the outset of World War I.
