Poll shows ruling party has most chances in Armenia’s parliamentary elections

YEREVAN, MARCH 30, ARMENPRESS. According to the opinion poll conducted by Sociometer sociological center 38% of the respondents will vote for the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), while “Tsarukyan” coalition lags behind by 5%, 33% of the respondents will vote for the coalition, “Armenpress” reports director of Sociometer sociological center Aharon Adibekyan told the reporters on March 30. He added that taking into account also the rating candidates the RPA can take 45.5% of the votes, while the “Tsarukyan” coalition 35.5%.

“The other forces together can take 29% of the votes. The votes of “ORO”, “YELK” coalitions, as well as Armenian Renaissance and ARF parties are somewhere between 2.5-5.4%, while the votes of Congress-PPA coalition and Free Democrats party are somewhere between 1.5-1.8%”, Adibekyan said, adding that 1.3% of respondents are ready to vote for the Communist Party.

Aharon Adibekyan also noted that 17% of the active voters have not yet made a final decision, hence they can vote for any of the parties or coalitions.

The poll was conducted among 11.200 eligible citizens, 60% of whom expressed readiness to participate in the elections.
