YEREVAN, APRIL 27, ARMENPRESS. US President Donald Trump has just taken the office, and he needs to be given a chance to improve relations with Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in an interview with Yahoo! News, TASS reported.

“He’s (Trump) just starting. Just give him a chance”, she said in response to a question why the Russia-US relations had not been improved under Trump’s Presidency.

Zakharova said the problem may be related with the former US administration’s policy led by Barack Obama. “We did nothing to deteriorate our relations. We are highly interested in developing relations with the United States at various spheres”, she said.

Maria Zakharova agreed with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s words who said that the bilateral relations of Moscow and Washington are at the lowest level during his recent visit in Moscow. “I do agree with this. We have repeatedly announced that improving the relations is in accordance with the interests of our peoples”, she said.
