Armenian Genocide commemorative events held in Switzerland

YEREVAN, APRIL 27, ARMENPRESS. A Mass was held in Geneva’s St. Hakob Church on April 24 dedicated to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims, followed by a wreath laying ceremony at a memorial in the Church yard.

The foreign ministry told ARMENPRESS Armenia’s Envoy to Switzerland Hasmik Tolmajyan delivered a speech at the event, who mentioned Switzerland’s National Council’s and Geneva’s Grand Council’s official recognition of the Armenian Genocide, and stressed the importance of international condemnation of the genocide for the prevention of this crime against humanity.

Tolmajyan mentioned that the reborn Armenia, as well as the participation of thousands of Armenians in hundreds of cities worldwide and foreigners in commemorative events of the Armenian Genocide prove the correctness of Anatole France’s prophetic words back in 1916, when he said – “Armenia is dying, but Armenia will be reborn again…..People who don’t want to die, won’t die”.

Armenian Genocide commemoration events were held in other Swiss cities as well.
