Civil Aviation dept. highlights Turkish ‘Pegasus’ airlines entry to Armenian market in terms of 
tourism development

YEREVAN, APRIL 27, ARMENPRESS. The Turkish ‘Pegasus’ low-cost airline’s entry to Armenia has an important significance in terms of developing tourism in the country, Sergey Avetisyan, head of the General Department of Civil Aviation told a press conference on April 17.

“I believe the entry of Pegasus airline to our market will keep Armenia in competitive positions in the region. Majority of our citizens, who travel from Tbilisi, mostly use either Pegasus or Turkish Airlines”, he said.

He added first of all he views this issue in terms of tourism development in Armenia.

“Since Pegasus is considered to be one of the most popular lowcosters of Europe, the geographical coverage of which is very big. This gives a very good chance to foreigners for visiting Armenia”, he said.

Starting June 1, Pegasus Airlines will operate three flights per week en route Istanbul-Yerevan.
