YEREVAN, JUNE 21, ARMENPRESS. The International Weightlifting Federation has announced the list of athletes who were temporarily disqualified for doping use.

The results were based on re-analysis of samples from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Among the disqualified is member of the Armenian Women’s Weightlifting Team Hripsime Khurshudyan. Athletes from Russia, Turkey, Macedonia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan were also disqualified.

The official IWF website reports that the weightlifters are banned from participating in any international tournament until the case is closed.

Hripsime Khurshudyan is a two-time European Champion and Bronze medalist of London Olympic Games. Khurshudyan was due to compete in Rio 2016, however her participation is now unclear.
