YEREVAN, AUGUST 22, ARMENPRESS. Robert De Niro is developing yet another luxury hotel, this time in London. The actor recently won planning permission for a hotel in London’s Covent Garden area, The Real Deal reported.

Westminster Council approved plans last week for the 83-room Wellington Hotel, backed by the actor and BD Hotels – the same team that owns Manhattan’s Greenwich Hotel — according to the New York Post.

The hotel will fill six adjacent buildings and plans call for a spa, restaurant, private members’ club and retail space.

De Niro told The Caterer that the hotel would “honor the heritage of the area, while bringing the best of what we’ve done in New York to London.”

De Niro is also in the midst of developing a high-end resort on the sleepy island of Barbuda, with billionaire James Packer.

But not all of De Niro’s real estate plans are blockbusters. Last December, Nobu Hotel Manila was voted worst luxury hotel of the year by Luxury Travel Intelligence, a members-only, high-end travel rating company.
