GAVAR, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS: U.S. Ambassador to Armenia MarieYovanovitch paid today a working and familiarizing visit to Gegharkunik province. She visited different regions of the province – Sevan, Gavar, Martuni, talked to the citizens, and then visited Noratus village, where she got acquainted with the fencing process of the local historical graveyard being implemented with the support of the US Embassy. 

GAVAR, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS: The number of crimes registered during the six months of the running year in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik has increased by 39 cases or 12% as compared with the same span of the past year. 

GYUMRI, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS: The architectural outline of the Gyumri technopark was presented today in Gyumri. In the contest announced by the Armenian Economy Ministry the variant designed by “Armproject” OJSC was approved. The authors of the plan are architects Mher Cherqezyan and Sashur Kalashyan. 

YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS: “Community Youth Policy” project will be conducted in the town of Sevan the main goal of which is to promote the participation of young people on community levels. The project has been approved still a year ago by the Council of Elders of Sevan and will soon launch.

GAVAR, JULY 26, ARMENPRESS: On the initiative of the Armenian community of Russian province of Omsk and at the invitation of Omsk Governor L. Polezhaev the delegation of Gegharkunik province was in Omsk July 23-25, headed by Governor Nver Poghosyan. Deputy Governor of Gegharkunik Artush Ghukasyan, Gegharkunik Police Chief Samvel Shahinyan and head of the Agriculture and Nature Protection Department of Gegharkunik Governor Office Vanik Hovhannisyan comprised the delegation. 

VANADZOR, JULY 26, ARMENPRESS: Each year about 300 parentless and children from socially insecure families conduct their summer holidays in Hankavan’s “Lusabats” camp where all the necessary conditions are created for them to have good rest. This year too the 150-member group of 7-12 years old children has already returned and the other one has left for holidays. 

YEREVAN, JULY 22, ARMENPRESS: The time for creation of the description of the state water reserves of Jermuk and Hankavan have been prolonged. First deputy nature protection minister Simon Papyan said it is necessary to present in a six-month time the descriptions of the Jermuk and Hankavan water state reserves borders, plans and measures of territories. 

KAPAN, JULY 20, ARMENPRESS: US Ambassador to Armenia Mary Jovanovich was on a working visit to Syunik from July 19 to 20. This was the Ambassador’s second visit to the province of Syunik.

YEREVAN, JULY 15, ARMENPRESS: The last seminar on “Social media and blogging” will take place July 16-17 in the Vanadzor Pedagogical University. The previous two seminars were conducted in Yerevan and Gyumri. The organizers of the seminar are “Neo Media” project with the “Hand” NGO. An official from the NGO told Armenpress that the fourth seminar is expected to be conducted in Yerevan but because of certain issues the 4th seminar will not take place.

YEREVAN, JULY 14, ARMENPRESS: Governor of the Armenian province of Ararat Vardges Hovakimyan submitted resignation application. Aide to the Armenian prime minister Aram Ananyan told Armenpress that at the July 15 session of the Armenian government the issue on candidate to that office will be discussed. 

GYUMRI, JULY 13, ARMENPRESS: The “School Building” program of the “Lincy” Foundation is in process in the Armenian province of Shirak. The total cost of the program is 9.5 million USD 5.5 million USD of which is intended for the Armenian province of Shirak. 

ARTASHAT, JULY 9, ARMENPRESS: The renovation of the roads of provincial significance is in process in the Armenian province of Ararat. Works for preservation of roads for the 2010 winter are also ongoing. With that aim 35 million 619 000 AMD have been released from the state budget – 26 million 581 are intended for winter preservation and exploitation of roads and 9 million 037 are being currently used for the preservation of roads and reconstruction of pits.
