YEREVAN, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS: Hence the Public Council may forward questions to the Armenian government and participate in their discussions like the other government-affiliated bodies. In connection with it at its today’s session the Armenian government approved the draft decree of the Armenian President on making additions at his July 18 2007 decree. 

YEREVAN, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS: “No force can make people of Karabakh live as part of Azerbaijan,” sociologist Aharon Adibekyan said today at a news conference. According to him, they have conducted polls in Nagorno Karabakh, according to which the 85% of the population sees Karabakh as an independent state and will not accept any alternative, and 15% finds that the solution to the issue must be found through mutual concessions. 

YEREVAN, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS: The mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan tasked to move two swans from the Yerevan Zoo to the Swan Lake. An official from the municipality told Armenpress that special place has been separated for the couple of swans so that they will be able to hide from the sun and to rest from swimming. Specialists of the Zoo will take care of the swans. They call on the visitors to restrain from the temptation of feeding the birds. 

YEREVAN, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS: About 85 children found asylum in the Children’s Support Center. Director of the center Ramona Ktakyan told Armenpress that these are children who for some reasons were left into oblivion, abandoned by parents, subjected to violence in their families. According to the regulation of the center, children from 3 to 18 years old found asylum in the center with averagely 30-day period, though there are exceptions as well. During this period they get medical, social-pedagogical, psychological assistance, care, food, clothes.

YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS: A new and an up-to-date cycling ground corresponding to European standards will be constructed in the capital by a joint investment program of the Yerevan Municipality and Italian “Renko” company. The start of the program was today announced by the Yerevan Mayor and by the director of the Armenian branch of the “Renko” company. Press service of the Yerevan Municipality told Armenpress that Gagik Beglaryan and Francesco Jussotti have signed a declaration, by starting the construction of an up-to-date cycling ground in Yerevan.

STEPANAKERT, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS: On August 3, in accordance with the earlier achieved agreement with the NKR authorities the OSCE mission is going to conduct а regular monitoring of the line of contact of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the eastern direction of Talish settlement of Martakert region, NKR. NKR MFA Press Service told Armenpress that from the NKR Defense Army positions, the monitoring will be held by Coordinator of the OSCE Office, Lieutenant-Colonel Imre Palatinus (Hungary) and Field Assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Hristo Hristov (Bulgaria). 

YEREVAN, JULY 27, ARMENPRESS: The gathering of the young members of Hunchakyan Party in Armenia will start from August 3 under the heading of “By the Call of the Homeland”. The young members of “Hunchakyan” arrived from different countries of the world will spend 5 days in settlements together with their party members. YEREVAN, JULY 27, ARMENPRESS: The session of the permanent council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was held today with participation of CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha. Press service of the CSTO told Armenpress that according to the agreement signed September 5, 2008 in Moscow, which intends preparation of specialists for law enforcement, anti-firing, accident rescue bodies, as well as for special services of CSTO member countries, the permanent council of the CSTO has presented the list of the educational establishments, where the trainings of the employees of those bodies must be conducted. The relevant project of the commission has been agreed and guaranteed, in order it is involved in the agenda of the regular session of the Secretaries’ Commission of the CSTO Security Council.

The archeologists who make excavations have picked up 3 m garbage in 3 weeks and wait for opening of new structures, head if Areni expedition of archeologists Boris Gasparyan told Armenpress, noting that it is possible that there is only rubbish-heaps in the cave, but it is not excluded that something interesting is covered by garbage.
