YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. No document has yet been adopted with the results of the discussion held at the UN Security Council on September 15, but this fact should in no way overshadow the importance of that discussion, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan said during the Cabinet meeting today.
He said that majority of the countries participating in the discussion highlighted the impermissibility of the use of force, the inviolability of the sovereign territory of Armenia. He said that the term “aggressor” has also been used during the session for many times.
“There is a clear perception that this is an incursion, an aggression against Armenia’s territory, that civilian infrastructures were targeted, and that the invader must return to its initial positions. There was also a talk about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The thesis of the Azerbaijani leadership by which they are trying to circulate that there is no Nagorno Karabakh conflict, there is no Nagorno Karabakh, received its adequate opposite reaction by the international community yesterday”, he said.
The FM emphasized the necessity of continuing the works on this direction. “I want to say words of appreciation to the countries which have stopped putting an equality sign between the aggressor and the target of the aggression, but I should also say that we had slightly higher expectations in terms of separate countries or a country, but it’s not a secret that they were not justified”, the FM said.
