Open Government Partnership CEO Sanjay Pradhan praises Armenia's efforts in advancing 
democracy

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 12, ARMENPRESS. Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office and Open Government Partnership-Armenia Coordinator Arayik Harutyunyan participated in the OGP Europe high-level meeting in Rome on October 11.

High-level representatives from Eastern Partnership and Baltic countries participated in the event.

During a meeting with Open Government Partnership (OGP) CEO Sanjay Pradhan, Harutyunyan talked about the security challenges in the region, the latest Azerbaijani aggression and its impact on the ongoing reforms in Armenia.

New opportunities of cooperation were discussed in the direction of maximal successful implementation of the OGP-Armenia 2022-2024 program and making the governance system more participatory.

Pradhan praised Armenia’s efforts in strengthening and advancing democracy.

Harutyunyan attached importance to the OGP’s role in raising the level of transparency and accountability in Armenia.

Arayik Harutyunyan also met with the Head of the Government Administration of Georgia Revaz Javelidze. The OGP agendas of the two countries were discussed. Harutyunyan and Javelidze also discussed how the two governments can support each other in implementing the OGP agenda reforms. Issues of public administration reforms, strategic programs and other sectoral issues were discussed. An agreement was reached to closely cooperate in exchange of experience and the reforms agenda through mutual visits and new cooperation mechanisms.
