Foreign Minister of Norway to visit Armenia

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Anniken Huitfeldt will visit Armenia, the government of Norway said in a statement.

The Foreign Minister will meet with Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan.

“The Foreign Minister is visiting Armenia at a difficult time for the country. Tensions in the region are high due both to the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

In her talks, Ms Huitfeldt will focus on Norway’s solidarity with Armenia and explore ways in which Norway can support important reforms”, the statement says.

The visit to Armenia will also include talks with civil society representatives working to promote freedom of expression and human rights, among other things.

Before the arrival in Armenia, the FM will visit Georgia.
