“Life goes on, we are moving forward, nothing has changed in our decision” – State
Minister of Nagorno Karabakh

STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. State Minister of Nagorno Karabakh Ruben Vardanyan expressed confidence that Nagorno Karabakh will overcome the hardships through unity.

“It’s already been over 168 hours that we are under blockade. Life goes on, we are moving forward, nothing has changed in our decision: the only path for us is to move forward in a way that we keep our dignity,” Vardanyan said in a live video message on social media.

He added that yesterday he visited Martuni, Martakert, and plans to visit Askeran today.

“I am convinced that we will overcome this all, we will move forward. I can see that the robust part of society wants and is ready for change,” Vardanyan said.

The State Minister attached importance to fighting indifference. “We have no other way, the only way that we can overcome these difficulties is to have faith in one another, to respect one another and move forward together,” Vardanyan said.

Azerbaijan blocked the Lachin Corridor – the only road connecting Nagorno Karabakh with Armenia and the rest of the world – on December 12. Furthermore, four villages in Nagorno Karabakh lost connection with capital city of Stepanakert. A day later, Azerbaijan cut off gas supply to Nagorno Karabakh but restored it on December 16. The road remains blocked.
