YEREVAN, JANUARY 17, ARMENPRESS. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called on Azerbaijan to unblock the movement of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the outside world, the Lachin Corridor, as soon as possible, ARMENPRESS reports the Russian FM spoke about this, as well as about the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, during a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on January 17.

"The ministers discussed a number of topical issues of bilateral relations and the regional agenda.

The Russian side emphasized the need to fully unblock movement through the Lachin Corridor as soon as possible, in accordance with the requirments set by the high-level Trilateral Declaration of November 9, 2020. The importance of reaching mutually acceptable solutions on all related issues was also emphasized, with the aim of resuming the systemic work in the key directions of the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement, based on the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
