April 11 Azeri provocation is ‘another encroachment’ against Armenia’s territorial integrity – Ambassador-at-large

YEREVAN, APRIL 12, ARMENPRESS. The provocation carried out by Azerbaijan on April 11 near Tegh, Armenia is another encroachment on the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador-at-large Edmon Marukyan said in a statement.

“The [Armenian Ministry of Defense] published a video showing how the servicemen of [Azerbaijani] Armed Forces, with the purpose of provocation, drive by the servicemen of [Armenian] Armed Forces carrying out engineering works, and open fire in the direction of the servicemen of [Armenian] Armed Forces killing 4 and severely wounding 6 servicemen. The provocation carried out by Azerbaijan is another encroachment on the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia. This policy of Azerbaijan is not new, it is the continuation of the attacks carried out against the Republic of Armenia in May and November 2021, as well as in September 2022, as a result of which Azerbaijan occupied sovereign territories of Armenia,” Marukyan tweeted, sharing the video of the shooting.

On April 11, Armenian troops carrying out engineering works near the village of Tegh close to the border with Azerbaijan came under heavy gunfire in an unprovoked attack. Four Armenian soldiers were killed and six wounded.
