Government of Armenia to do everything for NK residents to have the chance to live in
their homes safely

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS. The government of Armenia does not seek to depopulate Nagorno-Karabakh of Armenians, on the contrary it will do everything for the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh to have the opportunity to live safely, in dignity, without fear, in their homes, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said.

Explaining the stance of the government of Armenia regarding the possible move of Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, the PM said, “We assess that this could happen in case of recording the impossibility of our compatriots staying in Nagorno-Karabakh, and the continuation of this situation. Yes, we assess that this impossibility exists at this moment. That issue will be on our agenda if the situation doesn’t improve.”

PM Pashinyan repeated that Armenia prepared accommodation for over 40,000 NK families when the Azeri attack began. “We are ready and we continue to get ready. This is an agreed position with our colleagues in Nagorno-Karabakh that our plan A is not to depopulate Nagorno-Karabakh of Armenians. With our actions we must do everything for our compatriots, the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, to have the opportunity to live safely, in dignity, without fear, in their homes,” Pashinyan said, noting that this was the key emphasis of the UNSC discussion. PM Pashinyan said the government of Armenia will not spare anything.

The Armenian Prime Minister reiterated his assessment that at this moment there is no direct danger to the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, and this assessment has somewhat improved in a positive sense. PM Pashinyan stated however that the situation is dynamic and could change at any moment.

He warned that a hybrid warfare is being waged against Armenia in the information arena and highlighted the need for actively communicating with the public.
