Samvel Balasanyan newly elected Gyumry Mayor

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS: At the elections of the second Armenian city Gyumry urban community head, held on September 9, according to preliminary results, Samvel Balasanyan, member of “Prosperous Armenia” party was elected Gyumri’s Mayor. As Armenpress was informed at the territorial electoral commission N34, only 46093 (36.4%) of 125657 voters took part in the elections.

Andranik Avetisyan got 2458 votes, Spartak Petrosyan – 2130 votes, member of ARFD party Hovsep Simonyan – 10281 and Samvel Balasanyan got 27500 votes. 3359 ballots were recognized invalid.

The Republican Party of Armenia as well has decided to support Samvel Balasanyan.

Protests are accepted by the Central Electoral Commission(CEC) by 18:00 September 10.
