Armenian lawmaker of Lebanese Parliament says Aoun’s election is historic moment

BEIRUT, NOVEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. Representative of the Armenian lawmaker faction of the Lebanese Parliament Mr. Hakob Bagratuni has commented on the Presidential elections in Lebanon.

In his announcement in the Parliament, Bagratuni said that the stance of the ARF Central Committee regarding his allies are clear and unchanged, ARMENPRESS correspondent reports from Beirut.

“I find the Presidential election to be a historic moment, to close the page of the past and aim for the future. All of us must cooperate in order to restore what the past has ruined”, he said. The lawmaker says Michel Aoun becoming President was the dream of all Lebanese, and added that after the elections the page of the past must be closed and derive lessons from it, as well as act united, so it will be possible to leave Lebanon to the future generations.

While congratulating Michel Auon in the Presidential Palace, Mr. Bagratuni stressed that after the elections everyone must be ready for huge work, in order to shake off the despair of the previous years.

“Aoun’s election also symbolizes the perception of struggle, patience and continuation, and it must be an example for the citizens, so they will fight for their achievements and shape a free, sovereign and dignified Fatherland”, he said.

Hakob Bagratuni also added that the President is a unique person, known for his characteristics of being open to everyone, honesty and determination.

“He is a wise manager. We have to take into consideration that from now on there is a President, and all of us must stand at his side, in order to be able to restore the country”, Bagratuni said.
