Detained former Diyarbakir mayor Baydemir released
10:59, 26 January 2017YEREVAN, JANUARY 26, ARMENPRESS. Osman Baydemir, former mayor of Diyarbakir and lawmaker of the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) has been released from prison, Demokrathaber.net reports.
Baydemir is one of the Turkish lawmakers who has recognized the Armenian Genocide.
Baymedir was detained on January 25 to testify against the Kurdistan Community Union.
After his release, he announced that the arrests of HDP lawmakers is the country’s leadership’s fight to hold constitutional changes.
Ahmet Yildirimn and Imam Tascher, two other lawmakers detained on the same case, have also been released.
