YEREVAN, MARCH 22, ARMENPRESS. Health condition of Russian-Israeli blogger Alexander Lapshin, who is arrested in Azerbaijan, continues deteriorating, his wife Yekaterina said, reports “Armenpress”.

Yekaterina said if during March 17 phone conversation Lapshin talked about deterioration of his health condition, the phone talk on March 21 created more serious concerns. “In addition to headache, yesterday evening he had a nose bleeding. Asked what the doctor says on this, he said in general nothing”, Yekaterina said, adding that she informed the Consulates and the Red Cross on Lapshin’s health condition and expects they will assist Lapshin to undergo medical examination.

Alexander Lapshin, the Russian-Israeli blogger who was extradited from Belarus to Azerbaijan on February 7, has been placed in the isolation cell in Azerbaijan’s state security service.

The Belarus Supreme Court denied Lapshin’s appeal on the extradition verdict issued by the General Prosecutor of Belarus.

Lapshin faces up to 5 years imprisonment in Azerbaijan, under charges of “public calls against the state”, and “unauthorized crossing of borders”.
