YEREVAN, MAY 17, ARMENPRESS. The Defense Ministry of the Republic of Artsakh told Armenpress the Azerbaijani forces made over 60 ceasefire violations across the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact.

The Ministry issued a statement which says: “On May 16 and overnight May 17 the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire regime over 60 times by firing more than 900 shots from various caliber small arms at the Armenian positions in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact.

In addition, the Azerbaijani forces also fired 82 mm (4 shells) and 120 mm (17 shells) mortars at the eastern direction, 60 mm (4 shells) and 82 mm (15 shells) mortars at the north-eastern direction of the line of contact, as well as anti-tank grenade launcher (5 grenades).

The Defense Army forces of Artsakh took countermeasures to suppress the Azerbaijani activeness and continued conducting the reliable protection of military posts.

At the moment the situation is relatively calm in the frontline”.
