YEREVAN, MAY 24, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s tourism field started to apply technological solutions to a greater extent, Karen Vardanyan, Executive Director at the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) told a press conference in Armenpress.

“There is a progress in use of IT solutions in tourism field. During these years significant solutions were proposed. We will discuss these solutions at the DigiTech forum and will try to understand how the IT sector can help to develop tourism, mainly in rural communities”, he said.

Karen Vardanyan said it is necessary to more actively use the opportunities of online marketing for attracting tourists to Armenia.

“Works need to be carried out over two key tools: tourist before and after entering Armenia. It is necessary to understand how to provide comprehensive information to tourist before visiting Armenia which will encourage him/her. Moreover, it is very important to collect reactions of tourists after they leave Armenia and present them to the other visitors”, Vardanyan said.

The technological solutions of tourism field will be presented at the DigiTech forum which will be held in Yerevan on June 9-10. The annual DigiTech forum is being held since 2008 by UITE under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Armenia. The 2016 forum was attended by 900-1000 participants. This year more active participation is expected.
