Ateshyan invites locum tenens Bekchyan to Istanbul
17:40, 24 May 2017YEREVAN, MAY 24, ARMENPRESS. Archbishop Aram Ateshyan, who has stepped down from the post of Patriarchal Vicar of Istanbul’s Armenian Patriarchate, invited Archbishop Garegin Bekchyan to Istanbul to lead the patriarchal pre-election process as the elected locum tenens.
The invitation letter was posted on the Patriarchate’s website.
“In order to make this step, we had to wait for the right place and moment. It’s already the appropriate moment”, Ateshyan mentioned in the letter.
