YEREVAN, MAY 25, ARMENPRESS. Karen Botoyan has been appointed as Governor of Gegharkunik province, Armenia, during the Cabinet meeting.

Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan addressed Botoyan mentioning that he expects coordinated changes in terms of accountability and working conduct from the Governors.

“We wish you success. Soon trainings will be organized for Governors in the American University of Armenia, the rules and system of administration which we expect will be formed”, the PM said, adding that Governors will have balances rights and responsibility.

Botoyan was elected to the Parliament in the recent election under the ruling party’s regional list, however he had resigned as an MP, whereas the former Governor of Gegharkunik, Rafik Grigoryan, continues his career in the Parliament.
