12000 children in Georgia do not go to school - UNICEF

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. 12 thousand children are not attending school in Georgia, according to United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

According to Georgia’s First Channel, the education ministry of the country is working to identify the age segment of these children as UNICEF launched a two-year project in partnership with the Bulgarian government to support the kids.

“It is important that these children receive education at school since education is one of the fundamental rights together with other rights, and children must use this right,”  First Channel Georgia quoted Representative of UNICEF in Georgia Ghassan Khalil as saying.

First Channel Georgia also reported that the pilot program will commence at 15 schools and 6 day centers.
