National security service releases new details on IGLA surface-to-air missile system smuggling

YEREVAN, MARCH 23, ARMENPRESS. The National Security Service released details on the investigation regarding the smuggling of an IGLA surface-to-air missile system to Armenia.

“In response to regular inquiries from numerous media outlets, the national security service notifies that in regard to the smuggling of an IGLA anti-aircraft missile system to Armenia various investigative actions are taken at the current stage with the participation of the suspects, which are aimed at clarifying their roles and nature of involvement, as well as clarifying other circumstances of the case.

At the same time joint operations are taken with Georgian law enforcement agencies to check the credibility of the initial information regarding the alleged smuggling of the weapon through  the Armenian-Georgian border.

The NSS also notifies in case of new developments in the criminal case additional information will be provided”, the NSS said in a statement.
