Ukraine celebrates 25th anniversary of Independence
14:38, 24 August 2016YEREVAN, AUGSUT 24, ARMENPRESS. On August 24 Ukraine celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Independence.
In the central streets of Kyiv a military parade has been organized with participation of more than 10.000 people, Segodnya.ua reported.
A number of ceremonies dedicated to the Independence will be held in various parts of Ukraine.
The Armenian Union of Ukraine will also actively participate in those ceremonies.
The declaration of Independence was adopted by the Parliament of Ukraine (Verkhovna Rada) on August 24, 1991.
A referendum was held on December 1, and 90.32% of the citizens voted in favor of the Independence.
