YEREVAN, DECEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on December 2 held a meeting with the representatives of a number of international donor organizations, press service of the Government told "Armenpress".

PM Karapetyan attached importance to such format meetings and thanked for the cooperation. He said the Government is interested in raising the effectiveness of the works with the donor organizations and wants to hold a discussion with them on 3 major issues.

“1st – We have initiated the optimization process of Project implementation units. We have already dissolved 5 of them and at this moment we are launching the next stage of optimization. We want to negotiate with you over this issue and explain our goal. We want to make the work more effective, and the fixed costs less.

2nd – Loans, loan programs, their priorities. You know that the amount of our foreign debt is very high, and we want to discuss with you and confirm those priorities, the rules of the game that will later relate to loans, and we will select which loan program we will consider as a priority and which programs we will finance.

3rd – Until the end of the year, in upcoming days we will establish a Center for Strategic initiatives, or, in other words, a Center for Reforms, within the framework of which we are planning to cooperate with the maximum interested forces, including the private sector and discuss where we are going and where we are moving our country forward. We want to discuss all initiatives, strategies, reforms based on sectors, both long-term, short-term, in order to clearly understand at what direction we want to move forward our economy”, the PM said adding that he expects the cooperation and assistance of the international donor organizations in those processes.

Thereafter, the cooperation priorities, join projects and further actions mentioned by the PM were discussed with the participation of the respective Ministers and the representatives of the international donor organizations.
