YEREVAN, MARCH 1, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan briefed the Parliament on the substantiation of lowering gas tariffs in Armenia.

During a parliamentary Q&A with the Cabinet, in response to ANC faction secretary Aram Manukyan’s inquiry, the PM stressed one of the grounds for lowering the tariff was improvement of conditions for Russian gas transition through Georgia.

“The second grounding is the reduction of interest rates of service of the 2017 loan, the third reduction of our own expenditures and the resulting market response of the lower price, and the fourth ground the parent company was willing to subsidize the difference which would appear in a year, since there was a threat that the market could shrink”, he said.
