Netherlands

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. Exhibition entitled “Under the Spell of Ararat: Treasures from Ancient Armenia”, which opened in the Drents Museum in the Assen city of the Netherlands on May 10, has been named as the best exhibition in the Netherlands as a result of public voting and received the first award, the History Museum of Armenia said.

Among many other exhibitions, the Armenian exhibition was selected by the professional jury in the top ten and also received 40% of the public votes.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the Netherlands. It includes a significant archaeological collection from the History Museum of Armenia, consisting of 160 exhibits, as well as the relic of Noah’s Ark kept in the Museum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Tools, weapons, jewelry and other cultural values excavated from the territory of Armenia were displayed during the exhibition. 

The ceremony of handing over the award was held on September 27 at the Art Museum in Hague (KunstMuseum).

Armenia’s Ambassador to the Netherlands Tigran Balayan also attended the ceremony.

The exhibition will remain open until October 30.
