Turkey earthquake: Identities of two Turkish-Armenian victims released

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 6, ARMENPRESS. The two Turkish-Armenians who were killed in the devastating earthquake in Turkey are identified as Sami Tabash and Aida Tabash, a husband and wife from Malatya, the Zhamanak newspaper editor Ara Gochunyan told ARMENPRESS.

Gochunyan added that the children of the victims are seriously injured.

The 7,4-magnitude earthquake’s epicenter was 23 kilometers (14.2 miles) east of Nurdagi, in Turkey’s Gaziantep province, at a depth of 24.1 kilometers (14.9 miles), the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The death toll in Turkey reached 912, and over 5000 people are injured.

Another 326 people were killed and over 1000 were injured in neighboring Syria, where the quake caused massive destruction as well.
