Pan-European Protests in support of Nagorno-Karabakh announced, movement seeks EU’s
pressure on Baku

BRUSSELS, SEPTEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. The Europeans for Artsakh movement will hold a massive gathering on October 1 at Schuman Roundabout in Brussels and elsewhere across Europe in support of Nagorno-Karabakh and to condemn Azerbaijan’s policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide.

The demonstration will be held ahead of the Third European Political Community Summit, where Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azeri President Ilham Aliyev are expected to meet.

The goal of the Pan-European protests is to demand the EU to effectively pressure Azerbaijan to fulfill its obligations under the 2020 November 9 trilateral statement. The movement also protests the EU’s continuous political support to the ‘integration’ of Nagorno-Karabakh with Azerbaijan. It will call on the EU to recognize the right to self-determination of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, as an existential issue in conditions of ongoing ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan.

The Europeans for Artsakh movement believes that the support to the policy of ‘integration’ actually contributed to Azerbaijan’s genocidal policy against Armenians in NK. The movement will also express discontent over the failure of Russian peacekeepers to fulfill their duties.

The Pan-European Protests on October 1 will be held simultaneously across Europe, in Austria, Sweden, France, Denmark, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia, Germany and Czech Republic.
