YEREVAN, MARCH 5, ARMENPRESS. Under the chairmanship of the Chief of Staff of the Armenian Prime Minister, Arayik Harutyunyan a meeting was held during which they discussed the progress of implementing the Prime Minister's instructions, given on August 16, 2021, at the meeting with participants of the Olympic Games, and preparations for participation in the 2024 Olympic Games. Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasian presented the progress of fulfilling the assignments and noted that the construction and improvement works of the Simon Martirosyan Weightlifting Sports Hall have been completed, while the construction of the new sports complex "Arthur Aleksanyan Greco-Roman Wrestling Youth School" will be completed in 2025.  

According to the press service of the Government, the representatives from the sports sector briefed the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister on the preparations for the 33rd Olympic Games, scheduled to take place in Paris in 2024. Consequently, legislative changes have been implemented, Armenian Olympic teams have been established, and preparations are underway for the Games. This ensures the participation of Armenian national teams in world and European championships, as well as international tournaments.

It was noted that to address shortcomings, the ongoing work and reports of the head coaches of the national teams are periodically discussed regarding the participation in world and European championships, as well as in ranking competitions. During the meeting the participants exchanged ideas on raised issues. The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan  emphasized the importance of the consistent implementation of work to ensure the participation of national teams at the Olympic Games at a high level.
