National Assembly rejects the opposition-initiated draft statement on border delimitation
and demarcation
YEREVAN, APRIL 11, ARMENPRESS. The National Assembly of Armenia hasn’t accepted the opposition-initiated draft statement of the National Assembly “On the delimitation and demarcation of borders between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

Head of the Armenian National Assembly's ruling Civil Contract faction Hayk Konjoryan, said  that the draft  was handed to their faction 1-2 hours before the closed session, and they had not participated in the preparation of the statement.

"Moreover, there are several provisions in the statement that have nothing to do with the delimitation and demarcation process," Kondjoryan said, adding that the "Civil Contract" faction will not participate in the voting.

Artsvik Minasyan, the secretary of the opposition “Armenia” Faction, noted that the proposed draft contains fundamental statements and formulations. "Considering that the majority will not vote, we announce that today the project will be introduced into official circulation, and the parliamentary majority will be given the opportunity to work more actively on this project," he said.

The draft statement received 31 votes in favor and 1 against.
